PLOT SUMMARY:
Mitch, a private detective, is retained by a young woman named Kitty Harper, who informs Mitch that her fiancé, Richard Rattlestone, a promising American painter, has been arrested for murder. She adds that he is in the city with her guardian, Colonel Beauregard Crebs. Mitch agrees to go to the city jail to interview Rattlestone. The victim is Jonah Roundacre, a wealthy patron of the arts and Rattlestone’s benefactor. Mitch then travels to the scene of the crime, and then to a notorious nightclub managed by Rico & The Rose Gang, all in hot pursuit of the one fact he needs to solve – The Case Of The Framed Painter.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
While the plot of MITCH involves a murder investigation, it is apparent in the show’s final scene that no murder is, in fact, committed.
Also, handguns are not written into the text. They are only suggested by hands inside coats, etc. The use of “dummy” handguns for dramatic verisimilitude is left to the discretion of the director.
